Finding Happiness Within (Senior-Friendly Yoga Class)
A gentle, accessible yoga practice designed to nourish the body, calm the mind, and reconnect with inner joy. This class offers floor-based movements that are easy on the joints, paired with mindful breath cues and soothing intentions. Each posture invites softness, presence, and ease—making it perfect for seniors or anyone seeking a slower, heartfelt practice. We’ll flow through calming stretches, grounding poses, and end with a peaceful meditation to remind us that true happiness lives within.
Yoga - Rooted in Stillness: A Gentle Grounding Flow
This meditation-inspired yoga sequence invites you to center yourself through soft, intentional movement and breath. Beginning in the middle of your mat, you'll rise with presence, fold with grace, and step into quiet strength through grounding Warrior postures. Each shape encourages inward reflection and calm embodiment. The practice closes with the option to sit or lie down in stillness, holding a personal intention in your heart. It's a peaceful journey—a moment to return to yourself, gently and mindfully.
If you’ve done your “downward dog” yoga pose today, you’re probably feeling more relaxed.
Regardless of your level of yoga expertise, if you’re practicing regularly, you can feel better from head to toe.
Yoga offers physical and mental health benefits for people of all ages. And, if you’re going through an illness, recovering from surgery or living with a chronic condition, yoga can become an integral part of your treatment and potentially hasten healing.
A yoga therapist can work with patients and put together individualized plans that work together with their medical and surgical therapies. That way, yoga can support the healing process and help the person experience symptoms with more centeredness and less distress.
Please Note:
These classes are designed to be gentle and accessible, but it’s important to listen to your body. Please make sure you are medically fit to participate in yoga or have checked with your healthcare provider if you’re unsure. If any movement doesn’t feel right, it’s perfectly okay to simply sit back, breathe, and enjoy the calming energy of the practice. Your breath is enough. Your presence is enough.
